Navicat Software Maintenance Plan

The Navicat Software Maintenance Plan is a cost effective and comprehensive program that allows subscribers to receive priority email support, live chat support services, software upgrades and bug fix releases at no additional cost during the protection period.

Subscribing to the Navicat Maintenance Plan allows your organization to keep up with the latest developments in our software. Take advantage of the latest and improved features in Navicat.

The cost of Navicat Software Maintenance is determined by its product price, and is calculated as follows:

Maintenance Plan includes:

Protection Period:

The protection period begins on the day you purchase the product license and extends for a period of exactly 12 , 24 or 36 months, depending on whether you purchase the 1 year, 2-year or 3-year option.

For each purchase of Navicat, customers are given 90 days of complimentary maintenance period as of the purchase date. During the 90 days, customer will be protected under our complimentary software maintenance plan and enjoy priority support service.  It’s also the time for customers to consider if you would like to subscribe to our maintenance plan.

All subscription to Software Maintenance Plan must be done on the day of the license purchase, or latest within 90 days after your purchase. The start date of your Software Maintenance Plan will be the purchase date of the license.

How to Purchase Navicat Software Maintenance?

Subscription to the Maintenance Plan can only be done at the time you purchase the software license, up till 90 days as of your purchase date. If you decided to subscribe for the Navicat Maintenance Plan, please login at Navicat Customer Center, click the “Upgrade” and place the order.

Customers who did not make the decision to subscribe Navicat Software Maintenance Plan within 90 days of his purchase, will not be able to subscribe for the plan until the next version upgrade is available.

Without subscribing to Navicat Software Maintenance Plan, major release upgrades are 50% the cost of a new license.

2. How much does Software Maintenance cost?

The price of Software Maintenance Plan is calculated on a percentage of the product listed price on Navicat Online Store. It depends on the products and period of maintenance you purchased.
1-year Maintenance - 25% of the product listed price
2-year Maintenance – 1st year + 20% of the product listed price
3-year Maintenance – 1st year + 2nd year + 10% of the product listed price


3. Why should I subscribe the Software Maintenance Plan?

Subscribing to the Software Maintenance Plan not only allows you to receive priority email support, but also help you saving your cost on acquiring the latest version of Navicat. An Upgrade License of Navicat costs 50% of the product price, while price of Software Maintenance is as low as 25% of the product price, allowing you to get free major software release without any additional cost.


4. How can I purchase the Software Maintenance Plan?

Subscription of the Software Maintenance Plan is done at the time you purchase the new license up till 90 days as of your purchase date. If you decided to subscribe for the Navicat Maintenance Plan, please login at Navicat Customer Center, click the “Upgrade” and place the order.


5. How long does the Software Maintenance Plan last?

The validity of the Software Maintenance depends on the plan you subscribed. It’s available in 12-month, 24-month, and 36-month as of your purchase date.


6. How can I check the expiry date of my Maintenance Plan?

To check the expiry date of your Maintenance Plan, please login in to Navicat Customer Center, click “Upgrade”.


7. How can I renew my Software Maintenance Plan?

Renewal of Software Maintenance Plan must be done before its expiry date. To renew your Software Maintenance, please login at Navicat Customer Center, click the “Upgrade” and place the order.

8. Can Software Maintenance Plan be purchased whenever I need?

Navicat Software Maintenance Plan can only be subscribed at the time you purchase the Navicat license up till 90 days as of the purchase date. Customer cannot subscribe to the Maintenance Plan at any date later than that.
If you have missed the chance to subscribe the Maintenance Plan within the first three months of your purchase, please wait for the next version upgrade, purchase the upgrade license and the maintenance plan together.


9. My Software Maintenance has expired, can I renew it?

No, we are sorry that renewal of Software Maintenance Plan must be done before it expires. To join the Maintenance Plan, please wait for the next version upgrade, purchase the upgrade license and the maintenance plan together.


10. If the Software Maintenance expires, can I still use the product?

Yes, all Navicat licenses are perpetual, which means that once you buy a license, you owe the license for a lifetime. However, after the Maintenance is expired, you will no longer to receive priority email support, live chat support service and software releases.


11. Do I need to activate my Software Maintenance?

No, you will not need to activate the software maintenance. After you have subscribed to our Software Maintenance Plan, you will receive an Reference ID. Please keep the ID and you will be asked to submit it to our support specialist when asking a technical question.


12. When is the start date and end date for the software maintenance subscription?

The start date of your software maintenance subscription is always the date which you bought the software license. We give a 90-day allowance period to customer to consider whether there is a need to buy the software maintenance for their license. Even though if the subscription of software maintenance is made on the last day of the allowance period (i.e the 90th day after your purchase), the start date of your maintenance subscription will still be date back to your license purchase date, and extends for a period of exactly
12 , 24 or 36 months, depending on whether you purchase the 1 year, 2-year or 3-year option.


13. What is the difference between Software Maintenance and Upgrade License?

Software Maintenance is a new product launched in Nov 2010. Software Maintenance is a subscription service, whereas upgrade license is one off. Software Maintenance is bought on a yearly basis and once bought, customer will be protected for all upgrades on any release, as well as enjoying our priority email support. Upgrade License is for customer who did not subscribe to our software maintenance plan but wanted to upgrade their license to the latest release. The upgrade license price is 50% of the new license price, whereas for Software Maintenance, price is 25% of the license price for the 1st year, then 20% for the 2nd year, and 10% for the 3rd year.
